But always worth It
Books have been a portal for me to interact with the world for as long as I can remember. In moments of stress and anguish, I turn to books. When I am bored, there is always a book I can nest in. For the briefest of moments in time, there is an opportunity to fully immerse oneself into a whole other world. But what is most fascinating is that while living in these other worlds is that you are continuing to exist as you, and as a result can adjust and sharpen your own lens. Long story short – books are important, and I wanted an outlet to share my enthusiasm.
Topics I may write about In the future:
Are dark books underrated?!
My travels as they relate to books.
How I find books without breaking the bank...
Book ideas
Different types of book clubs I have been in.
Reading challenges!
Why jumping around In genres is important for readers
What constitues a "good" reading spot for me.
I have been known to have inscrutable inner workings… but enough about me, let’s talk books. First, books are important, and should not be discarded merely because of an external fear that a particular book will be too much to handle. There is a book for everyone, that much I know. Classics used to feel out of my reach – I worried that I needed a certain reading proficiency before I could really understand or access the content. Turns out that there is not a categorization as simple as that when looking at a “challenging” book. As I have explored more genres and time periods, I have come to find out that it is as much about you as a person and the themes that resonate with you in determining the effort that is needed. For example: maybe it is a situation you have personally experienced – it will likely be a more straightforward process to digest the material than a topic you have not yet been exposed to and will be structuring a new framework in your mind to accommodate. Neither Is less worthy of your attention. As I have become more in tune with the world and myself I continuously find myself astounded by how much more there is to life than what you can find on the surface. Books, for me, have been a valuable tool for me to not only digest and process the world around me but to put words to my own personal experiences. What better way to explore the depths of what it means to be human and exist in the world than with a book, in the depths of your own mind?
It is my hope that this website will not only embody my enthusiasm for reading but also serve as a starting point for readers who have previously lamented on where to begin in the world of books – especially those books that appear Hard To Read.
